        Paasi Parupu Payasam(or) Moong Dal Payasam

Ingredients

Paasi parupu (or) Moong Dal-1 Cup
Jagerry-3/4 Cup
Ghee-30ml
Cashew nuts-10-15 Nos
Coconut milk-50ml (optional)
Coconut Pieces-25gms (Small Thin Slices)
Raisins-10gms
Elaichi powder-1tsp
Milk-150 ml





Preparation time:-20mins

Method:-

1.Wash the moong dal with water then add it into the pressure cooker or a pan with the water level upto the dal gets drowned.


2.Dont over cook the dal, if cooking in the pressure cooker means make it cook for 3 to 4 whistles in medium flame.


3.At the same time dissolve the jaggery in some water and make it to boil, then filter the jaggery water to remove the dirt.



4.Add the jaggery water into the cooked dal, mix it well.


5.Add the milk into the pan, mix it well for 3-5 mins.



6.On another pan fry the coconut pieces, cashews and raisins in ghee until it gets golden brown.


7.Add the fried coconut, cashews and raisins into the payasam.

8.Finally add the elaichi powder and mix well.


9.Before switch off the flame add the thick coconut milk into the payasam to make it so creamy and rich. 


10.Switch off the flame.
